The segment and market reach of small pickup trucks are constantly growing. This is why companies like Fiat have been actively joining with this realm with models like the new 2017 Fiat Strada. Unlike other mid-sized and full-sized pickup trucks, this new 2017 generation Fiat Strada has been optimised and is suitable for light duty operations. This new Fiat Strada 2017 comes in 3 different body configurations which are extended cab, double cab and single cab.
2017 Fiat Strada – Exterior Body and Interior Cabin
This new generation Fiat Strada shares much of its exterior body design with Fiat Toro. This 2017 Strada has retained all the modern exterior styling from its predecessor. However, Fiat has also brought up some generational changes.
To start with it, the plastic claddings on the wheel cut outs are revisited. Its front fascia remains the same as the signature design language takes possession. Expect new chrome finishes in the grille and front bumper which add aggressiveness to some extent.
A small skid plate reflects this pickup truck’s sporty nature on the front bumper. 2017 Strada rides on the same 16-inch alloy wheels. Like the previous model, this 2017 Strada’s cargo bed has been stylised by sporty bed rails and plastic cladding.
The interior cabin of 2017 Fiat Strada differs with different versions. What’s common in every version is the double cabin architecture. This interior cabin consists of bucket lighting and maritime canopy.
Top notch trims feature power steering wheel that has leather upholstery. Not just in the steering wheel but this leather upholstery is done in the seats too. This 2017 Strada’s AC vents have been reworked for improved distribution.
Similarly, the infotainment system has also been updated. The driver’s gauge cluster incorporates both analogue meters and a TFT information centre. What’s changed is the rotary controls on the instrument cluster as they are now more easy to use. Overall, this cabin’s layout is pretty much the same as there’s no improvement in legroom.
2017 Fiat Strada – Engine and Performance
The company has used a 1.4-litre V8 engine in this 2017 Fiat Strada which has different outputs. First, the base version gets the output of this engine as 90 lb-ft of torque and 80 hp. These output figures are increased up to 120 lb-ft of torque and 115 hp for the extended cab version.
Lastly, the double cab model gets the highest 133 lb-ft of torque and 130 hp. This pickup truck can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just about 10 seconds. As far as mileage is concerned, the combined figures stay around 20 to 22 mpg. A 1.8-litre V8 engine is also presented as optional. This model will be able to carry 1,554 pounds of load.
2017 Fiat Strada – Price and Release Date
