Honda motors has recently released the details about its new pickup truck, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline. This release comes at a time when there has been a noticeable break from the company in the past two years, especially in the production of its pickup trucks. This new ridgeline pickup truck also comes at exactly a decade since the first model of its kind was released, back in 2005. The new 2017 Honda truck is indeed a revamp of the earlier models and it has a lot to offer in terms of performance, overall specs and design. There are however noticeable retention maintained in the new model that seem to be an improvement of the previous models.
2017 Honda Ridgeline – Exterior and Interior Design
The exterior of this truck has a couple of noticeable features. The major one being the departure of the truck from its predecessors bulky and solid design to a more unibody form of the chassis. The company argues that this form of design will enable the mid-size truck have a superior on-the-road comfort. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline also brings back a more familiar profile where the bedside of the truck are barely spilling to the point where it is noticeable. The tailgate is carefully divided into two by a vertical line. This means that the tailget will have a two-piece style. Most of the other design features of the exterior of this truck have been largely maintained from last years models.
Going into the interior of the truck, it is important to point out that the immediate appearance shows that the 2017 Honda Ridgeline has been redesigned to a noticeable extent. There are a lot of soft but quality additions in the interior deck. Leather goes all round the deck and there is carefully leather sewing all the way round the seats. When it comes to the tech additions, you find a new infotainment system, Bluetooth connection, a USB port, center console with a large and vibrant screen display, navigation system, safety belts, air bags, stereo with speakers and so on. The Ridgeline’s interior is very well designed in this new model.
2017 Honda Ridgeline – Engine and Performance
Under the hood of this truck lies a 3.5 liter V6 engine. The expected power output from this engine is definitely a balance that throws it exactly in the position of a big player in the mid-size range of trucks. The engine is tied to a six-speed auto transmission that is standard for the truck. It has an optional four-wheel drive truck, the front wheel drive also comes standard. The all wheel drive balances the truck for different traction needs. The Ridgeline pickup has some unique features like independent suspension which give it a crossover appeal.
2017 Honda Ridgeline – Price and Release date
Honda made a debut of its pick up lines in the 2016 Detroit auto show. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline truck is expected to hit the market sometimes in spring of this year. The price of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline has not been made available officially but the last Ridgeline model started at about $38,000.
