2017 Nissan Titan Pro-4X Review, Specs

Ford has been leading the pack in the pickup line-up, followed by Toyota. The F-series beat Tacoma 2 to 1 in the sales department, and these two automakers reached their peak during the first half of 2016. Nissan is selling pickups with similar looks and power but hasn’t reached that mark yet. However, it hopes for a turn-around and 2017 Nissan Titan Pro-4X is suggestive of that.

Nissan has rolled out 5 trims in its 2017 Titan section. Pro-4X sits right in the middle. The name is suggestive of its all-wheel drive layout, which is combined with 18-inch tires provided as standard. Read on to find out what all Nissan’s new pickup has in store for its customers.

2017 Nissan Titan Pro-4XDesign and Technology

This Titan shows a lot of resemblance to Ford’s F-150s. The trapezoidal headlights create that deception, but the mesh-shaped grilles remove all confusion. No chrome touches anywhere in its front fascia. The large nose is suggestive on its underlying V8. The rear design is nothing fancy with square taillights and a modest bumper.

Interiors are spacious with rear seats foldable and extra cargo space under them. Nissan has installed its 360-degree all-around view camera in its 2017 Nissan Titan Pro-4X. Infotainment display continues to be 7-inch. Safety includes ABS, side impact beams, cruise control, traction control, park assists and all the standard ones. Lane-assist and blind spot monitoring may come as an option.

The pickup carries an “Endurance V8” badge on its sides. This indicates that Nissan has put its 5.6-liter V8 under its hood. It will take Titan’s power capacity to around 390 hp and torque output will stand at 394 lb-ft. Transmission is 7-speed automatic with manual mode.

Curb weight of this pickup is nearly around 5,900 pounds. However, it doesn’t affect the engine performance to that extent. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph takes around 6.8 seconds while it reaches 100 mph in a further 11 seconds. Top speed is limited to at 110 mph. EPA figure is not that impressive. The pickup measured 15 mpg in city, 20 mpg on highways and 13 mpg combined.
