The exterior of the 2017 Ram Dakota will be based on a new unibody platform. The ram dakota will have a new stylish yet aggressive look which is meant to give the truck a new lease of life. The automaker hopes the new additions will re-ignite its lost spark in the mid-size truck market segment. The 2017 Ram Dakota will be offered in two body types i.e. 2-door and 4-door body configurations. At the front, the Dakota will feature a new bolder grille which will be flanked by a pair of LED headlights. The front bumper has also been redesigned and is integrated with larger air intakes and new fog lights. At the back, the 2017 Ram Dakota features a smaller cargo bed. The automaker is keeping engine details a closely guarded secret. However, according to our credible sources, the 2017 Ram Dakota will have three engines. The base engine will be a 3.7 L V6 petrol engine capable of producing 210 hp. There will also be a 2.5 L turbo diesel engine which is capable of 180 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. The most potent engine will be a 4.7 L V-8 petrol engine which will produce around 320 hp. The engines of ram dakota 2017 will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission system but a 5-speed manual gearbox will be offered as an option. The 2017 Ram Dakota will be unveiled in the last quarter of 2016. Sales will follow shortly after in the first quarter of 2017. The automaker is yet to release official information regarding the Dakota’s price. However, our sources reveal that the base model will have a starting price of around $ 25,000 while the top trim will cost over $ 55,000.


The 2017 Ram Dakota will face major competition from the likes of Ford F-150, Ford Ranger and Toyota Tundra.
